people made bad financial decisions. I don’t want to bail them out so they can make more bad financial decisions. For everybody struggling to pay off their student loan debt, there is my friend and coworker, who used student loans for everything as a student, treating himself to new computers, borrowing enough so that he could eat out constantly. Now, he makes certain he doesn’t make enough money to trigger automatic repayments because he’s discovered if he just pays nothing for 20 years, the debt is forgiven.

A share of the tuition costs should be at least forgiven. That should not exist. And I thought that student debt could not be defaulted on.
