On the way in to work this morning there was a conversation on the MN public radio news station where someone was saying “We should get rid of Franken and get someone we like”. They may have been suggesting Ellison but I shut the damned radio off.

My prediction is that we’re going to “Oh gosh” ourselves into making Franken resign before Moore’s election. We’ll loose Franken and then Moore will win and be seated in the senate, and we’ll all be talking about how disappointing it is that democrats continue to fail us.

I’ve had a tendency to dismiss people who complain about how gutless democrats and progressives are when push comes to shove, but I believe that I am about to give up. I’m thinking the republicans get Ryan’s tax plan passed, trash Obamacare and the Sessions justice department gets full reign. Right at this moment I’m just feeling like we are totally self-fucked. We are so goddamned stupid.

I won’t accuse any lizards of being such, but I do believe that a large portion of the calls within the ranks of the Left calling for Franken’s resignation are those who were going around as recently as last week declaring the DNC needed a “reckoning” about the sexual exploits of one William Jefferson Clinton. I don’t doubt for a second that there are Bros who see a Franken resignation as an opportunity to put Ellison in the Senate and give his seat back in HoR to a “true progressive.”
