I recently re-read Venus Plus X. It has not aged well.

I have been trying and trying to find out the name of a scifi book I read when I was young. I’ve tried to google the plot idea, but nothing.

It was something about the earth moving through space, moving OUT of the influence of some “cosmic ray” and the earth reverts to a former state, that being, the animals are all smart.

The “ray” was retarding their real nature.

I can’t come up with the book.
