Have to disagree. Rendell has been a lousy governor IMO but he was a very popular mayor (obviously not for everyone, though) for very good reasons and he would easily have won another term if it weren’t for that limit thing. Instead, we got Street. One of many reasons I’m no longer living within city limits.

Street was pretty popular, too, in a lot of sections of the city. My issues with Rendell are personal. He’s always treated police officers with contempt, and while he did balance the budget, he did it at the behest of our salaries.

We are still one of the lowest paid police departments in the country.
