There’s plenty of blame to go around. It appears there were multiple warning signs about this guy, any one of which would have raised eyebrows, and which taken together would have set off serious alarm bells. But it appears that the whole “connect the dots” thing we were supposed to get out of DHS isn’t working even a little bit.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to see lots of heads rolling after this. Like I said above: just fire them all, and start over. Send a clear message that this bullshit isn’t going to be tolerated.
