It’s slow around here this so I’ll toss this out and see if anyone has some thoughts.
Has anyone ever explored the effects of Think Tanks on the blogosphere? As I look around everyone is either shilling for Heritage/CATO or Center For American Progress. I’m not implying that there’s some grand conspiracy from Soros/Koch Bros but it does seem that these think tanks have a lot of influence on pushing content into the blogosphere.

The difference, and it’s a big difference, is that the stories originating at Think Progress or Media Matters are always factual; they link to original sources and provide video or audio clips.

On the other hand, the stuff coming out of Heritage and Cato is almost always insanely biased, and often completely false. Heritage especially is deeply invested in promoting fake conspiracy theories to the right wing.
