You are arguing in a circle: People deserve to be executed in a scary and painful way because they deserve it and it is valuable because it is valuable. That’s not answering my question. I asked specfically about the value and merit of having an execution be scary and painful. Punishment is not its own reward. You seem to be implicitly arguing for some vague and nebulous concept of the punishment fitting the crime, but I can only guess.

I never said it was valuable, only fitting, and punishment is a reward. My only argument is some get better than they deserve. No where have I said the government should implement a special rape to the death penalty for people like the BTK killer.
