I spent some time over the weekend watching a series of videos by one of those precious metals wonks, Mike Maloney. He argues that governments and markets tend to follow the same cycle over and over, and he suggests that the last government action before a massive recession is tax cuts + attempts to jigger the budget to compensate for the tax cuts. And guess what the GOP controlled Congress has just done and is trying to do. He also predicted that a recession would happen while Trump is in office.

I don’t agree with everything he says or advises, but I believe he’s right about the economy taking a turn for the worse under Trump. The GOP have taken a perfectly healthy economy and ruined it, just to give their donors a nice little Christmas present.
