that is the worst fucking argument I’ve heard this week. Saying that science picked up because we developed better glassware is like saying that intelligent design is proven because glasses weren’t invented until 1200 AD, but look where God put our ears.

You’re wrong and kind of being a dick about it. Better glass enabled better optics, which in turn allowed much finer and more detailed observations that rippled through the entire Renaissance art and science scene.
