If John Bolton has information that could destroy Donald Trump legally if not politically, then he is doing this nation a massive disservice by putting it behind a paywall and should not profit from it. It stinks of a man who sits by and watches a murderer acquitted, then comes out literally weeks later to release a “tell-all” book that says the killer confessed to him and told him where to find the murder weapon.

It’s not really behind a paywall because if the book is published, the important details would immediately appear in articles by reviewers and legitimate reporters. It would not prevent anyone from learning the truth. Bolton should have consented to testify before the House. As someone here said — in Bolton’s case, it’s not party over country, it’s money over country.

The question is: if he had testified, would that have made any difference in the outcome? The truth and details were already known. Would his confirmation of existing reports had made a difference to the Republican jurors? I suspect it’s not the Ukraine case that will cause discomfort to Republicans but other foreign policy actions that haven’t been so meticulously covered that could make a real impact.
