That’s the stupid part of the law: The way SYG is written in Florida, both parties could claim justification if they were the sole survivor. If Austin had snapped his pursuer’s neck, he too could have cited SYG. The only time it gets messy if both parties are still alive, for then it comes down to a battle of credibility.
