Ok as a woman speaking only for myself, I am not ready to demand that Al Franken resign. What he is accused of is gross, but it is so much more minor than Moore - or Trump. And it occured in the context of a comedy tour - known for bad taste and pushing boundaries. I’m just not convinced that quitting his senate seat is necessary (subject to change if it turns out this was a pattern and not a one-time idiocy).

Second, I am just not in favor of unilateral disarmament. I don’t like rules that apply only to Democrats. Yeah, we should be better than them, but we shouldn’t have to be perfect. A one-time mistake is not the same as a pattern of assault, and I don’t think the former (for Democrats) requires the same career death penalty as the latter (for Republicans)

Third, I am not at all in favor of taking/not taking actions because “it will give the other side ammunition.” That never works or makes sense. The other side will use whatever thaty have or make up crap if they don’t have anything. There is no appeasing them, and trying only makes us weaker.
