re: #600 Anymouse
Well, when it comes right down to it, I canât say whether Bernie Sanders would have made a good president or no. Same with Hillary Clinton (despite executive experience).
The test of a president is when that person becomes president. Weâve had lots of people who were thought would make good presidents and didnât pan out, and vice versa.
The idea of âhe polled wellâ equating to âhe would have wonâ doesnât mean a whole lot. (See Hillary Clinton, who polled well against Donald Trump.)
All that aside, there was no question with the people Mr. Trump was surrounding himself with, the things he said on the campaign, and his trail of broken business contracts and bankruptcies would make him a singularly bad president.
Oh I know but my perceptions of them as candidates definitely shaped how I thought they may do as President. It wasnât that Hillary had a lot of unique experience. It was I think she was better at the non-policy side of the job, bringing a good team together. I think Hillary was the type of candidate who had a great idea of who she wanted for many positions. I didnât see that with Sanders TBH with you, I think Sanders wouldnât have had an as strong cabinet as she. In the end, weâll never know, so itâs pointless to me to argue and turn every election in the coming years into a Sanders v Clinton proxy battle as I am seeing with the Bros and Broettes in the DNC chair race
