Bad guys with guns nearly always have the initiative. Heck, cops responded in Dayton and engaged the shooter within 30 seconds. 9 people were still murdered with dozens more hurt.

That’s the entire point of these weapons. Mass killing. Slinging one over your shoulder as a talisman doesn’t protect you or anyone else. If anything, you make yourself a target for the bad guy with a gun since your gun could become their gun to continue their murderous rampage.
