Can you supply a town name? My father’s family is from that region of the state. Some of the ancestors came into the area from Virginia in the early 1700s and settled near Blue Knob.

Johnstown, I am sure you know it since its flood in 1889 is famous and I just realized that Johnstown is northeast of Pittsburgh agh sorry about that. Funny though that your family moved from Virginia since that’s where my family ended up. My dad’s dad had a government job and settled outside of DC right around when my dad was born. My mom’s dad had no desire to work in the damned mines and ended up helping building Northern Va in to what it is today. A funny story is that my mom’s dad was my dad’s foreman on a construction job about seven years or so before my parents actually met. Apparently my grandfather was a hardass on the job and I believe it since I helped him out a few times myself.
