All you have to do is look at the details of polls to see the only group who still loves The Orange One is the Republican base. They’re slightly less enthusiastic than 6 months ago.

All the headlines have barely penetrated their reality bubble. As long as the base loves him the Rethugs in Congress will continue to smile and support him, hoping to pass some shit bills. They’d dump him in a heartbeat except they’d get a primary opponent.

Its going to take some time for the investigation to really pick up steam but its already producing damage. They’ll not be ready to charge people close to Trump for months.

I’m hoping for a steady dribble of information from the panicked Trumpers being interrogated for the next year. (Go ahead, leak grand jury testimony!) and then a few choice indictments next June or so when its too late for the Rethugs to recover.

As someone pointed out the other day, “Republicans” may still like him, but the number of people self-identifying as Republican is going down.
