Someone called in to my public radio station this morning and in the lead-up to her specific question about the tax bill, blamed Nancy Pelosi for not blocking it.
Not sure quite how she thought that worked.

The only solution to that sort of woeful ignorance is a sustained, aggressive, fuck-the-both-siderist-media-in-the-earholes campaign to talk to those voters directly. Much as I hate to admit it, Cheeto Benito does have a point about using social media to “bypass fake news” - there are communication tools available now that weren’t nearly so prevalent in Obama’s early days, plus good-old-fashioned boots-on-ground canvassing (isn’t this how Doug Jones was able to turn out so many voters, despite a woeful lack of existing infrastructure?)
And again, simple messaging is what works best - “We couldn’t block the tax scam because there were too many of them and too few of us. Elect more Dems to overturn the GOP tax scam and replace it [plan goes here]”
