The problem Pence faces is he’s not even interesting. Trump is a fucking malignant narcissistic lunatic in the middle of a massive cognitive collapse but he managed to tap in to his followers’ need for spectacle and racial scapegoating. In comparison Pence is just such milquetoast boring ass piece of shit that I don’t think he’ll be able to pull off the conversion. He’s also gone all in on Trump and participated in the Ukrainian shakedown, so he’ll have a hard time separating himself from Trump’s clearly criminal acts. Lastly I think Pence’s hardline religious convictions helped the ticket as VP because it brought Christian conservatives on board, but I think it works against him at the top of any ticket for the same reason. He might get to finish Trump’s term, but that’d probably be it.

The real risk is how much horrible Republic of Gilead shit he pulls in that short time.
