I always thought a 2 state solution would be an advantage for Israel.
They could legally declare war and fight until a surrender is reached and nobody could do a damn thing about it.
Just my simple view

The problem, Hoops, is that gaining a surrender in Gaza would ultimately require scorched earth tactics, and most likely atrocities. The will people of the Gaza would have to be broken is order to force a surrender, and the things Israel would have to do to achieve such a breaking would change Israel into something Israel does not wish to become.
