How much do you think it costs for all of the religiously driven conflicts in the world to persist? How much does Israel spend? How much of that comes from the US? How much goes to gaza for the same conflict? How much foreign aid has turned into bombs, and not food? How much does it cost Pakistan to fight the Taliban? How much does it cost in Iraq?

Let’s just talk dollars, and ignore the human toll of death and disease when the Pope tells an over-populated aids-infected third-world country that condoms will make their plight worse.

Don’t overestimate religion as the root cause of Israel’s wars. Sometimes it’s just a land war in Asia.
