I suppose it would be heretical to suggest that perhaps Rubin and a bunch of other conservatives may be seeing the light and are horrified by what the party has become?And then when the worst of them have been cleaned out through criminal prosecution, resignation, or electoral defeats will create a more sane party?

Not to me. I am happy for the Never-Trumpers, especially in the media.
Doesn’t mean I will agree with them on many other things, but on the horrible destructiveness of Trump and Trumpism…they are welcome.
