If there are no humans to inhabit it, of what use is the Earth?

It will be of great use to whatever creatures survive, cockroaches for instance. It is also possible that other intelligent species will evolve. They can study us just as we study creatures who have been extinct for millions of years. Since we are far more numerous than the proto-humans we have studied, and our presence far more intrusive, it is likely that future students of the past will be able to learn by our example.
