This amendment was targeted for a certain situation, for a certain time, for a certain reason, but appears to have been written to include future considerations.

Do you think this amendment should be extended to all children born in this country, oblivious to the mothers status?

I thought maybe you were questioning the current usage. I was just asking for a clarification.

Actually, we’ve been a country in which born here means American. To change that would be to change 400 years of practice.

Again, I really have no idea how to fix the situation with illegals. We have to work with human nature rather than against it, and it’s human nature to want to go where there is opportunity for you and your family.

(Making the observation, again, that the richest man in the world is Mexican.)
