Dude…Romney’s already trying to appease the various socon/nutty elements of the party. They’re just not buying what comes flopping out his mouth. He’s not walking away with dignity: he’s dying on stage.

Not all SoCons are Freepers. Romney needs conservatives, but he can win without some of the fringe. And even if he doesn’t, a Mass Flounce by the fringe would cut the fringe’s influence considerably, which would help every who isn’t part of that fringe going forward.
