Mitt already made “the speech”, when he went down to Texas to bow before the Christian fundamentalists.

What many seem to be avoiding is the essential patriarchal nature of not only Mormonism but the specific role of a Mormon Bishop, a role which Mitt played.

Questions still exist on how authoritarian such roles can be, and in Mitt’s case, how it played out in the case of pregnant women or women who were somehow found out of place in the supposed Mormon family utopia.
