Gentle reminder, there are many flavors of libertarian. Just because conservatives (who claim to be right leaning libertarians) use the term ‘classical liberal is libertarian’ doesn’t mean it describes libertarianism as a whole.

Unfortunately, sane libertarians like you are the vast minority.

I don’t think it’s a MBF or delusion to say that neither Democrats or Republicans have any interest in reducing the role of Government.

The role of government should be whatever is appropriate for the situation we face. When we face great peril that needs great collective action, it should be higher. When things are best served by innovative individual action, it should recede. That’s one of my main problems with ideologies of any sort; the world doesn’t remain static.
