re: #625 allegro

So I’m hosting a brunch tomorrow and want to offer Bloody Marys as well as Mimosas. No biggie. I go to the liquor store to get mix and vodka which is where I ran into issues. I’m not a vodka drinker so I don’t know one from another. Again, shouldn’t be a big deal except one of my guests is Russian. I figure it would be just my luck if I picked the worst Russian vodka ever made and he would know it. I saw Polish vodkas and Ukranian vodkas and I’m oh shit what do I get. Saw a vodka from Sweden and decided that seemed neutral enough and it was a nice bottle.

Am I over-thinking this? LOL

Well, the official U.S. government definition of vodka includes the word “tasteless”, so I don’t know.

How people get away with calling neutral grain spirits that have never been near a potato “vodka” is another question.
