I’m going to be in Germany next year. Should be uh interesting.

I have been here since reunification, and the former East Germans did not have any sort of immigration like the West experienced until after 1989, whereas the West have had Italian,Turkish, Yugoslavian and other European/African immigrants for decades and although relations are sometimes far from ideal, the people in the West are still generally civil and tolerant about it all.

And I am still astounded that they have taken on over a million refugees over the past year and a half without major social conflicts.
