In this situation saving the Captain is important, but there is a bigger issue at hand.

The World is watching, the Cal Thomas piece you linked.

A ineffective and weak response will insure more piracy, more hostages. It also means Thugs around the world are going to be more aggressive in the face of the weakness.

Many, many more lives hang in the balance than that of the Captain.

What the left has never understood is that actions, or the lack of them sends strong messages to the world. There is a direct linear relationship between Clinton’s inactions and the messages that inaction sent during the 90’s and 9-11.
- Mogadishu. we get bloodied and he pulls out. Message sent and received.
- First World Trade Center. Courtroom action only. Message sent and received.
- Khobar Towers. Nothing but a few words in response. Message sent and received.
- Two American Embassies bombed. Words again. Message sent and received.
- USS Cole bombed. No action in response. Message sent and received.

- 9-11. Answer to our messages sent back loud and clear.

Words are meaningless. Actions count. Are you listening President Obama?
