And the opposite of that is true as well. One of my sisters and I had a rivalry when our kids were little to buy the others kid the most annoying toy possible. It started with a 100 piece, some assembly required, plastic crap and by the time we called a truce a few years later it had moved all the way up to a drum kit.

Buying someone else’s kid a drum kit is as far as that gag can go!

I’ve said in the past that a lot of toys (the really annoying noisy variety) are never bought for your own children, only for someone else’s children… and usually for “revenge” or other passive-aggressive reasons.
