They don’t care because the objectors are Part Of The Problem. Perverts, the damned, the sinners, the socialists, the multiculturalists, and the academics. Built right into their worldview is (1) all of the above don’t count as “real Americans” and subsequently (2) don’t deserve inalienable rights or franchise.

This is why I’m not being delicate with the word fascist: this lunatic fringe—Dominionists, the hardest-core social conservatives, the nativists— are people that can only be described as holding democracy in contempt. There’s no other way to interpret what they say.

Has anyone come up with a definite definition of fascism yet?
