Over and over and over again, Conservatives tell us we must limit the freedom of people who aren’t straight men, because straight men cannot be held responsible for their actions.

Women must dress demurely, own and carry guns, not go out alone, not drink, not let a guy into their apartment/dorm room, etc., all because if they do, straight men might rape them.

Trans people can’t use the restroom of the gender they identify with - not because they themselves are a danger, but because straight men will use this as an excuse to hang out in the Ladies Room, raping women who came in to pee.

Women can’t serve on aircraft carriers, submarines, etc. because straight men will rape them. And they can’t serve in combat roles because straight men will be distracted trying to protect them, except when they’re raping them, presumably.

Gays can’t serve in the military, because straight men are afraid they’ll be ogled, or raped, because that’s what they’d do if they were surrounded by people they are attracted to.

Seriously, as a straight man, I gotta ask - why do we expect so little of ourselves? And if we’re so out of control, why do we think we should be in charge of everything?
