Damn! I am going to have to drive into town to mail a small Ebay package to France. It is already metered and ready to go, I just cannot get the carrier to pick it up. Today, I actually scheduled a package pickup, indicating that it would be on the porch. It was not picked up and I got an email saying that the pickup attempt had failed because the carrier could not locate the package. Ok, it was on top of a planter box on the porch, should have been more specific. Thing is, a new package was delivered at the same time. It was leaning against the same planter box and was actually in physical contract with the outgoing package the carrier failed to find.
I cannot schedule a new pickup because the USPS website is down.

That sounds like a UPS style error, not USPS.

The USPS (Post Office) Website seems to be working fine here.
