Flipping power went out in our whole building just as I finished fixing some dinner in my Chinese instant pot. Grrrr!

when I was looking for an apartment in Moscow, first thing people said to look for was a gas stove, so that you could keep cooking when the electricity went out (they seldom both went out at the same time) and if the gas went out, you could transfer to a hot plate.
