Why are former Presidents given intelligence briefings after they are out of office at all? It’s not like they are going to be called to fill in during a crisis and need to be ready to go.

I think it’s more a courtesy than anything else. In Trump’s case, an exception needs to be made because it’s obvious to anyone that his broke ass will try to sell that knowledge for $$$.
