He is his own man, and I respect the hell out of him for that. I agree with a large part of what he has to say, and will not piss on his entire works for the little parts I don’t agree with.

Unfortunately there are those I dub “100%’ers”. “You are either with us all the way or not all”, who refuse to countenance any differentiating point of view on any subject. Folks who might otherwise agree with one person’s philosophy, but reject it entirely due to disagreement on one minor subject or another. Animal Farm Ideologues.

I’ve been chumming it up with someone over at the store I go frequently. He’s an atheist, liberal, and so on. We agree on a lot of things and I’m always updating him on what’s going on with the Tea Party or who said what like Sharron Angle. So, the other day when I told him I voted for Bush in 2004 it reminded me of when I told a Christian acquaintance that I was an atheist. He was like “wha’?” but he didn’t shut the door. I never hope we get to a point were everybody votes for the same candidate — i.e. 100 percenters.
