On a right site I was reading last night (maybe HotAir?) the string of commenters claiming that they had never, ever heard of “uppity” as being racial in any way whatsoever was just hilarious. Where did they all grow up, North Dakota? Even in white-bread central Pennsylvania, “uppity” was about the negro folks.
