Having your party’s nominee spout idiotic shit like self-deport, hiring the writer of the controversial Arizona law, and having an insulting ad that compares POTUS to Chavez, Castro, and Che will do that. Is it any wonder why Hispanic voters see the GOP as not respecting their community’s values? It’s been downhill for them with that group ever since W Bush got rejected by his own party on immigration reform. Feel weird praising W Bush here but he seemed to get what a lot of Republicans don’t seem to get about Latino voters and that’s treating them with respect.

Yes, Hispanics lean toward social conservatism and “family values”, but to appeal to them you have to recognize and respect their support of strong schools, strong communities, and strong workers’ rights, which they see as the key to success.
The GOP is totally gung-ho on the socon aspects, but totally lacking in all the rest.
