There is some real mathematical strangeness going on here. His ” … on average from a family…” is one of them. I wonder what the median income tax paid from a family of four would be?

Remember the infamous “47%”. Well, truth is LA has plenty of poor families and the median household income in LA is $44k:

and the portion of the population below poverty is 18%.

Anyway, if Jindal gets his way the people of LA will have fewer services, their sales or property taxes, or both, will go up, taxes on corporations will not go up meaningfully because the companies will lobby successfully based around the threat of lost jobs, etc.

When are these Americans going to stop buying the spiel that civilization doesn’t cost?
