I am so damn angry at the people who only gave them paintball guns, but not nearly as angry as I am at the people who attacked them. Who prepared to attack them by cutting up their lifeboats to make weapons.

TBH again, I don’t see how not having paintball guns could have helped.

It may have made things worse.

At least this way, the weapons grabbed by the mercenaries were only pistols, and it is clear the soldiers had no choice.

What would have happened with actual automatic weapons? The same soldiers who dropped down would have been lynched, and the same soldiers who pulled out their pistols and defended their platoonmates would have opened fire with a different weapon, only it would have looked worse on Israel.
