re: #639 Targetpractice
We hear āWhat if Franken was a Republican,ā but how about āWhat if Moore was a Democratā? Would any of us look at the accusations made against him or (for argumentās sake) Doug Jones and argue that they could live with a sexual predator being elected so long as the seat went blue? Would any of us buy comparisons of the man to Jesus or the Founding Fathers (both comparisons made about Moore)? Or entertain the idea of suing a local paper for printing allegations made against Moore?
If the answer to any or all of these is āNo,ā then thereās no further argument. We are not in Frankenās corner because of the party he belongs to, weāre in his corner because we believe he deserves a fair hearing and the opportunity to defend himself.
yup
āourā reactions differ re: moore and franken because what they did was different.
not because of the party they belong to
ātheirā reactions differ because of the party each belongs to
their reactions are entirely, political and obvious to all.
