You’re mistaken about the repeal of Glass-Steagle (sp). The termination of the separation of investment banking from commercial banking didn’t cause the current crisis.

The repeal of Glass-Stengle allowed the creation of bohemoth financial institutions. When those behemoths failed, things got bad in a hurry. The repeal may not have caused the crisis, but it facilitated the downfall.
