Okay, that took longer than I thought, but I got the stuff I hope I need for my car.

Believe it or not, we quit using rubber trees for a reason. I believe it was “supply and demand”, but I could be mistaken.

As to plastic being synthesized from biologically based feedstock, I would like a link for that if you’re still here. Not out of snark or anything like that, I am just honestly curious about the subject.

A good place to start is with the Wiki link.
After reading that, scroll down the google list and click the link to “news for bio-plastic”, there are several links there I found interesting as well as informative.
