I did not mean to sound snarky. I apologize if I came off that way. As a kid, there is no way on earth I would have wanted to be at an adult political event (I should not have assumed that all kids would think as I did.)

My children would ask me who made up the laws. Rather than just telling them, I would take them to our town meetings so they could see the people who made the laws, and the process that determined these decisions.

Now, as adults, my children have taken on these types of decision making opportunities, themselves.
My son is the Chief of our local Fire Department
My daughter is the head of any organization that oversees adults with Mental Retardation
