Agreed. The Sun Crusher was a great superweapon, but Zahn did a much better job of fully drawing characters. Grand Admiral Tharwn was an excellent antagonist: Someone you could oppose but not really hate.

Thrawn was pretty good for a Star Wars character. Admiral Daala? Not so much. And I was hoping Star Wars was past the “super-weapon” trope, too.
