The Crew from the Enterprise went back in time to Alameda to steal a couple of humpback whales.

Star Trek IV, The Voyage Home. One of the better Star Trek movies, although not nearly as good as II or VI. It lacked a villain like those played by Ricardo Montalban or Christopher Plumer.
