As others have said, ratfucking doesn’t work too well when you make yourself look real bad in the process. Also, Bannon and his breitbrats wold never publicize something like this, even anonymously. So if it is fictional, it is somebody who is not sympathetic to the admin, has a very good grasp of some of the internal dynamics and a better than average sense of creating character.

That is why I still lean towards real.

This is exactly the sort of shit someone who gets their LOLs from 4chan would pull. “LOOK AT WHAT I CAN GET ALL THE STUPID LIBS TO BELIEVE, I WONDER HOW LONG I CAN KEEP THEM ALL GOING.” No side needed, just play into the confirmation bias and stick with vague assertions that can’t really be proven. (For “protecting one’s identity,” of course.)
