Well, for those of you, like me, that are feeling like crap over this health care bill, I recommend watching Saw VI.

Let’s just say that the “players” of that particular game for this movie are health insurance executives. As with all Saw movies, things don’t end well for the “players.”

Kind of like watching Indiana Jones punch Nazis.

At least I can live vicariously through movies like these.

It’s not even the insurance company execs, really. What would happen if you take off the preexisting conditions surcharge ban is that there’ll be a competition to cut prices for ‘healthy’ people, because you need people paying IN who aren’t taking OUT. The more you cut premiums for the ‘healthy’, the more you have to charge everyone else. That’s why the ban on surcharges is there in the first place.

Insurance execs are perfectly happy collecting the same total amount in premiums without the surcharge by charging everyone the same. But if that’s no longer legally required, the competition for ‘healthy’ people will become fierce.
