But the problem is that was one clear issue she could take a stand against with one vote.

The Supreme Court nominee will be sold as fair and willing to accept established law. Since a Supreme Court judge rules on all manner of things that a conservative like Collins probably is fine with that places less emphasis on women’s health.

That will make it very difficult as a Republican and she can hide behind a promise that was made (no Roe v. Wade decisions). She fell for Mitch promises before, and then he just ignored her. She may fall for another promise again.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to pack the court which is every Republican’s dream.

Susan Collins is a Republican.
