re: #59 JohnAdams

They are telling you that abject failure is not only an excuse, it is the norm. Basic American principles and values have now been officially swept out to sea by the stroke of a Harvard grad’s pen. We’ve entered a world of pure abstraction in which the rules are invented by our “elites.” And the majority of the electorate is watching “American Idol.” In what way is this not “Animal Farm”?

I was admonished for daring to challenge the current “theories” in addiction. “We don’t use the moral model any longer!”, I was told. “You must take every step to avoid any indication on your part that the addict is responsible for his condition, you must not cause him/her to feel bad about their condition. This is a disease, like diabetics, or cancer, and your approach must reflect this.”

/need I go on?
